So I finally got around to playing the expansion pack the other day and it most certainly was not worth the 15 dollars. The new maps werent bad but after one rotation through I already had enough.
Anyway there is supposed to be news on the mod tools sometime soon from pcdev on twitter. In the meantime I am going to merge my codebase with the 1.07 gsc scripts that have leaked. It should help the speed up the process when the tools are actually released. I won't be able to do anything with the new maps until the release since my testing environment is still running 1.02.

Still waiting....
Just wanted to do a quick post to say I'm still around. Watching the treyarch forums. It's quite pathetic how long treyarch is taking to release the tools. Oh well. I'm beginning to wonder if there will be anyone left playing the game by the time the tools come out :/

Docs / Status Update
Things have been slow lately because I have mainly run out of things to work on until the mod tools are out. Over the next week or 2 I will try to get some documentation done on each DVAR and how to setup rulesets. I probably won't be posting too much more until the tools are out, but I will continue to monitor the site daily. When the tools are finally released to the public I will most likely get the first version of GoneMOD released within a day or so.

OT Side Selection
I added some side selection code to readyup during overtime. You are now able to choose which side your team starts on, without having to change teams or do a restart of the server. Right now I bound the key to ActionSlotThree to toggle the sides. To prevent abuse, everyone's readyup status gets reset to 'not ready'.

Enjoy the Silence
I added a feature to remove the ambient sounds (random gunfire, computers beeping, wind blowing, etc). So here is a video with all the maps comparing these 3 settings turned on and off:
gm_fx_ambient_sound_enabled
gm_fx_volumetric_fog_enabled
gm_fx_visual_enabled
The video is pretty long because I show off all the maps, but it's easy to get the point after the first few. I also boosted the sound in the video 200% so its easy to hear the diff.

FPS Comparison
Performance has always been the biggest complaint I see about black ops, so I did a little experiment to see what turning off fog, effects, and sound does to your frame rate. There is definitely an increase when turning them all off. Keep in mind I took these screen shots on my beefy gaming computer (i7 OC'd to 3.6ghz, 6 gig ddr3 ram, and a 580 GTX) so most likely worse computers will see a much bigger increase than I did. I don't know the exact numbers but I did see a significant boost when running blackops on my laptop that can barely run the game.
